Wellington Mills reception boosted

Member for Forrest Nola Marino opened the new mobile base station in Wellington Mills – the 300th delivered by Telstra under the Turnbull Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program.

The tower was also the 100th base station delivered by Telstra in WA.

“The Turnbull Government is improving mobile reception in regional and rural Australia,” Mrs Marino said.

“This is one of 19 towers I am delivering in Forrest.

“Our region is vast, and mobile black spots have been a real problem for some areas.

These new base stations will help us to stay connected and ensure emergency services, residents, tourists and businesses can stay in touch and access the services they need.”

The Mobile Black Spot Program will continue to roll out this year with rounds 1 and 2 scheduled for completion in 2018.
