South West Refuge Receives Funding from Federal Government

The South West Women’s Refuge is now much closer to purchasing a new Toyota Rav 4 after receiving $10,000 from the Federal Government under the Stronger Communities Programme Round 4.

Member for Forrest, Nola Marino today congratulated the refuge on their successful application for the grant.

“The South West Women’s Refuge is a valued organisation providing crisis accommodation for women and children escaping domestic violence” Mrs Marino said.

“This grant will assist the refuge in replacing their existing vehicle with a brand new one, allowing for more remote access to locations previously inaccessible due to vehicle limitations, while also increasing passenger capacity”.

“It is great to see a local, South West organisation be rewarded for the valuable service they provide to our community”.
