FORREST MP Nola Marino is supporting the National Redress Scheme, which she said was a vital step for victims of institutional child sexual abuse in the South West, after legislation to create the scheme was introduced to Parliament.

“The National Redress Scheme will play an important role in acknowledging, supporting, and providing a monetary payment to people in the South West who experienced sexual abuse,” she said.

“This legislation opens the door for a national approach to providing redress, across our communities, our state, and the nation.

“Redress is not compensation – it is about providing the support people need to positively move forward.”
