Nola Marino helps launch Telstra’s improved mobile phone service in Leschenault

Hundreds of families living in Leschenault, north of Australind, will benefit from an improved mobile phone coverage and new wireless broadband access.
“There has been a demonstrated need and demand from residents during the past few years which, to their credit, Telstra has responded to,” Mrs Marino said.
“I welcome their investment which is improving communications infrastructure in the outlying suburbs of some of the fastest growing suburbs in the country.”

The new mobile base station on Australind Drive will give residents and people driving along Old Coast Road fewer drop outs and a more reliable service.

It is also expected to benefit people with home businesses and improve communications during an emergency response.

Telstra Country Wide General Manager for WA South Boyd Brown said Telstra’s ongoing investment in its mobile network will provide significant benefits to the local community, travelers and businesses.

“Given the increasing popularity of smartphones and tablets, people are using their mobile devices in more ways, and downloading more content on the run. We’ve upgraded the network so they can do this more reliably and in more places,” he said.
