National Landcare Program– call for Submissions

28 September 2021

Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino MP said, “This is a great opportunity for individuals and organisations of the South West to help shape the National Landcare Program and I’m encouraging all involved to provide a submission to the Phase 2 Review of the program.”

“The review is another step the government is taking to ensure that programs being delivered are to the standards expected by the Australian public.”

The National Landcare Program is the Australian Government’s flagship program to protect and conserve Australia’s water, soil, plants, animals and ecosystems, as well as support the productive and sustainable use of these valuable resources.

Under National Landcare Program Phase 1, the government invested $1 billion over four years – from 2014-15 to 2017-18. The government continued its commitment to the program with a $1.1 billion investment in Phase 2 of the National Landcare Program.

The review will examine the effectiveness of the program in delivering sustainable agriculture, environmental, biodiversity and broader community outcomes, and consider design options for the next phase of the program.
