Marino secures significant South West projects

Member for Forrest Nola Marino is proud to announce the Bunbury Outer Ring Road and the Myalup-Wellington Dam Project were coming to fruition.

The projects are part of the Turnbull Governments announcement of $3.2 billion for new infrastructure in Western Australia.

“I’ve been working on getting the Bunbury Outer Ring Road (BORR) up for many years,” Mrs Marino said.

“I’ve also been fighting for the Myalup-Wellington Dam Project as well – today is great news for the South West.

“This significant infrastructure package will provide a major boost to the South West with many jobs expected to be created during construction.”

Stages 2 and 3 of the BORR will be completed with $560 million from the Turnbull Government.

Mrs Marino said the BORR will reduce commuter times and improve road safety.

“The BORR will be a massive boon to the South West,” Mrs Marino said.

“This will improve road safety and travelling time for people.

“The road will also facilitate the development of the Bunbury Port and South West industry.”

Mrs Marino has also secured $140 million in Turnbull Government funding and a concessional load of up to $50 million towards the Myalup-Wellington Dam Project.

“This project will divert high-saline inflows upstream from the Wellington Dam for desalination, improving the quality of water stored in and released from the dam for agriculture and various uses,” Mrs Marino said.

The Turnbull Government is also allocating over $188 million towards WA hospital infrastructure projects.
