Marino secures new South West project

The South West has been boosted with Member for Forrest Nola Marino securing a new project for Augusta under the Building Better Regions Fund.

Augusta CRC will receive over $9,900 for the Augusta Cultural and Heritage Winter Festival, one of the biggest events the CRC has been involved in. The CRC management and committee have matched the grant dollar for dollar.

This funding will ensure the project holds tours of historical sites and heritage and cultural talks in collaboration with local Indigenous people. The festival will be held in 2019 and will span several days. It will appeal to all ages as well as families and will be held alongside the whale watching season in winter

The Augusta CRC has combined with other stakeholders such the Augusta Chamber of Commerce, The Historical Society, Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse and local Indigenous groups to help bring this project to fruition.

Successful projects for round two of the Infrastructure stream will be announced in the near future. A full list of successful round two projects under the Community Investment stream are available at business.gov.au/bbrf
