Making the South West safer

Member for Forrest Nola Marino is encouraging organisations and councils to immediately apply for the Turnbull Government’s Safer Communities Fund.

“Crime is an issue that people across the South West raise with me daily,” Mrs Marino said.

“The Safer Communities Fund provides up to $1 million for security infrastructure addressing crime and anti-social behaviour and projects which help reduce the fear of crime.

“Security enhancement projects like CCTV, bollards and lighting are all eligible for federal funding under this program.”

Mrs Marino said the Liberal-led Government was committed to reducing crime, and this was one measure which will assist in that endeavour.

“I want to see as many South West organisations apply as possible,” Mrs Marino said.

Applications close on November 14.
