Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino has welcomed today’s announcement by the Australian Regional Tourism Network that it will hold its next annual convention in Margaret River.
The ARTN is the peak national tourism organisation which is made up of tourism operators, local governments and state tourism bodies.
“Margaret River will become the centre of the regional Australian tourism universe next year,” Mrs Marino said.
“The iconic wine region status is well recognised and this will further enhance its reputation.”
About 160 conference delegates will have the chance to see some of Australia’s top wineries and natural attractions the Margaret River region has to offer.
“I look forward to the network members seeing and experiencing what the region can offer to the wider tourism market,” Mrs Marino said.
“This is a great opportunity for businesses and should provide a boost to the local economy.
“It will be a strong signal to Australian tourists that the Margaret River attractions did not succumb to the bushfires last year and has always remained opened for business.”
The conference will run from October 21 to 25, 2013.
