Local projects honouring veterans receive Government funding

Member for Forrest Nola Marino has commended Nannup RSL on receiving Federal Government funding for their commitment to commemorating Australia’s wartime history and recognising our local service men and women.

Mrs Marino said Nannup RSL had received $4,000 under the Australian Government’s Saluting Their Service commemorations program to support restoring the Nannup War Memorial.

“This project is another permanent tribute to local community members who have served and continue to serve our country,” Mrs Marino said.

“This latest round of ongoing Community Commemorative Grants will ensure the delivery of meaningful projects to local communities like ours to commemorate Australia’s role in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations and reflect our gratitude to service men and women.

“The commitment of organisations such as Nannup RSL, ensures communities like ours can preserve our local history for future generations.”

The Community Commemorative Grants category of the Saluting Their Service program provides up to $4,000 for each project and applications can now be made through the Community Grants Hub.
