Jobs Marketplace Events to support SW Business & Employment

Job seekers in the South West will be better connected to employers across priority industries such as care services, civil construction, mining, hospitality, and tourism following funding through the Federal Government’s Local Recovery Fund.

Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino MP said partnering with The Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) will provide the local knowledge and community links which play a vital role in the South West’s recovery from COVID-19.

‘The Local Recovery Fund is supporting South West communities -helping people find work and connection them with local employers, including through apprenticeships and traineeships.’ Ms Marino said.

The BGCCI will be supported to deliver a Local Jobs Marketplace series involving six events starting in September that aim to bring employers and job seekers together to promote career pathways and boost workforce participation in identified priority industries.

The BGCCI CEO Kristy Gillian said ‘This is a great initiative for us to continue our engagement with South West community groups, employment service providers and businesses to identify local employers with local jobs and link them with local people seeking work’

‘This continues the Chamber’s work in supporting our local business through the COVID-19 challenges especially those sectors in the care industry, horticulture, agriculture, hospitality, tourism, construction, mining and trades,’ Ms Gillian said.
