Inquiry into Regional Health – call for Submissions

13 September 2021

The Senate Community Affairs References Committee is calling for submissions as part of the inquiry into the provision of general practitioner and related primary health services to outer metropolitan, rural, and regional Australians.

Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino MP said the committee is seeking submissions from a wide range of people and organisations, including individuals with first-hand experience in regional Australia.

“It is important that people accessing and delivering health care in the South West have the opportunity to share their experiences and ideas effecting them, their family and the local community.”

“If you have an idea or way to improve access to health care please give your feedback by the 30th September.”

The Inquiry will consider Government reforms and policies, including the Stronger Rural Health Strategy, geographical classification systems, GP training reforms and Medicare rebates, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on doctor shortages.
