Independent Review into regional education

Member for Forrest Nola Marino said the Turnbull Government has released an extensive report to guide efforts to overcome the educational divide between capital cities and regional and rural areas.

Mrs Marino said the final report of the Independent Review into Regional, Rural and Remote Education, led by Emeritus Professor Dr John Halsey will help ensure South West students are getting the support they need to succeed

“The report has identified four priorities areas including establishing a national focus for regional, rural and remote education, better tailoring research for successful learning, addressing information communication and technology needs and focusing on the transitions into and out of school,” Mrs Marino said.

“I’m committed to ensuring regional and rural students have the opportunity to go on to further study, training and employment.

“Thank you to all of those in the community who took the time to contribute to the review and share their ideas and experiences about how best we can support South West students to succeed in school and beyond.”
