Funding Builds Better Regions in Forrest

The south west is set to benefit following the announcement that a Busselton Jetty project will be funded under the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream.

Federal Member for Forrest, Nola Marino said the project was a significant investment in building a stronger economy and driving jobs for the long term.

“This is a fantastic outcome for the south west community, with the project receiving $320,000 to establish a marine discovery centre, multifunctional area and safe swimming area,” Ms Marino said

“This will have major flow-on benefits across the community including improving recreational opportunities, adding infrastructure for events, increasing levels of amenity and creating new reinvigorated activities for the Busselton and south west community, ensuring our region will continue to thrive and prosper into the future.”

Chairperson of Busselton Jetty Inc, Jenny Sheehan said, “We are absolutely thrilled and grateful to have received this grant. It will allow us to establish much needed facilities at the end of the Busselton Jetty.”

“We have listened to feedback from locals and visitors over many years and now have the funding to advance our objective of providing a world class tourism and recreational facility.”

‘We are grateful to Nola Marino for her tireless promotion and advocacy, and acknowledge the importance of her support,” Ms Sheehan said

“With the Coalition Government investing well over $200 million in 136 projects under round two of the Building Better Regions Fund it means that in each successful community many local projects are receiving the funds needed to bring ideas to fruition, Ms Marino said.
