Federal cash for roads

Upgrades to Boodjidup Road and Mansfield Avenue in Margaret River, and Witchcliffe’s Redgate Road, are to begin this month after receiving more than $300,000 in Federal funding.

The projects are three of 14 in the South West to share in $1.86 billion through the Roads to Recovery Program.

In a statement, Forrest MHR Nola Marino this week said she was optimistic more road upgrades would soon be announced in the region.

“There are many roads in the South West which need work and I’ll be fighting to ensure more roads are upgraded,” she said.

The money will fund the fullwidth asphalt overlay of Boodjidup Road and Mansfield Road, while Redgate Road will welcome the full-width resealing of the road surface and asphalt overlay at the start of the road.
