Farming grants open

FARMERS are encouraged to band together and apply for a series of grants opened last week in the Federal Government’s National Landcare Program to foster sustainable land management.

The program’s Smart Farming Partnerships grants are designed to provide multi-year grants of between $250,000 and $4 million to support innovative and sustainable land management practices, to protect and improve the condition of soils, vegetation and biodiversity.

Forrest MHR Nola Marino called for groups, organisations and individuals in the agriculture, fishing, aquaculture and farm forestry industries in the South West to apply for the $60 million partnership grants, which are now open.
