Cyber safety focus of MP’s school visit

Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino will give a presentation on cyber safety at the Margaret River Senior High School auditorium next Tuesday.

Presented by Margaret River Independent School and the senior high school, the presentation will cover the risks associated with social media, online bullying, a child’s digital footprint and the security weaknesses of smartphones.

Mrs Marino is on the Joint Select Committee for CyberSafety and works to identify what concerns young people have when using the internet.

“The internet is a wonderful tool and a great asset,” she said. “However, it’s important for all to know how to stay safe online. My presentations are to help to educate young people and families around cyber safety, and where to get help when they need it.” The presentation will begin at 6pm.
