Better export opportunities is just one of the benefits Bunbury has with the Federal Budget, according to Finance Minister Senator Mathias Cormann and Forrest MHR Nola Marino.
The pair spoke to media representatives at the Quality Hotel Lighthouse on Friday afternoon about the Federal Budget and what it meant for the South West.
Mr Cormann said the Government was investing in infrastructure and the Bunbury Outer Ring Roading project’s $10 million funding boost was part of that.
Mrs Marino said this project would address the connection of freight routes in the South West and allow the region to reach its full potential in industries such as manufacturing and agriculture.
She also said the project would link the Busselton-Margaret River Airport, which could open up more export opportunities for the region.
“We supply some of the best products in the South West,” Mrs Marino said.
