Benefits of mature age workers

From this month local employers can receive a financial incentive of $1000 by giving a genuine job opportunity to someone aged over 50 years.

Other benefits include mature age workers being less likely to take days off due to illness and are less likely to experience work-related injuries than other workers.

Airport progress welcomed

With several studies nearing completion into how to make an expanded Busselton airport a new gateway to the Capes Region I welcome the news that the WA Government is involved in the preparation of a business case.

As the details are being finalised I hope that the final proposal is as attractive as possible for all levels of government to support.

There is certainly a lot of interest among east coast residents for the Margaret River region and all it has to offer.

Among the possibilities ahead for an expanded airport could be people in Sydney or Melbourne able to fly in for a long weekend in the Capes Region.

Winemaker featured

Margaret River’s Voyager Estate was chosen by the Winemakers’ Federation of Australia to be part of its annual showcase in Federal Parliament last Month.

The Estate’s Chardonnay (2009) was on the list of whites promoted by the Federation.

It follows Voyager’s prestigious achievement of having their 2011 Sauvignon Blanc on the menu at the official dinner for American President Barack Obama.

Congratulations to everyone involved in producing wine of such high quality.
