Expanded ‘Bull Ring’ for growing rugby juniors

Bunbury Bulls juniors president Danny Griffin with Nola Marino MHR open the new oval with help of under7 player Cade Lottering.

The Bunbury Bulls rugby club officially unveiled their new look home ground at the launch of their junior home games last Sunday.

The club’s juniors president Danny Griffin said the Bulls were proud to be first regional club in the State to boast two test standard pitches.

Griffin said the new facilities at the “Bull Ring” would assist the club’s long term goal of producing an Australian rugby player from Bunbury.

More than 250 juniors from under 7s to under 15s turned out to play at the club’s Hay Park home.

Officially opening the new ground was Federal Member for Forrest Nola Marino who congratulated the club and its supporters for their fantastic efforts of building grass roots rugby in Bunbury.

Four-year-old Cade Lottering was plucked from the crowd by Mrs Marino to assist with cutting the ribbon.

Cade played for the first time on the weekend. He had been very keen to play rugby just like his older brother Taine who ran out for the under 11s.
