Member for Forrest Nola Marino is pleased to announce the next step to complete the Bunbury Outer Ring Road, with $10 million of Turnbull Government funding towards the project.
Mrs Marino said this project will address the connection of freight routes in the South West, and allow the region to reach its full potential in industries such as manufacturing and agriculture.
“This is great news for the South West,” Mrs Marino said.
“As you would know, I have been working on the Bunbury Outer Ring Road project for several years.
“The project is now a step closer, courtesy of Federal Government funding.”
Mrs Marino said the project is a key component of the South West road and freight network for business and industry.
“The announcement will lead to improved road safety in around Bunbury,” Mrs Marino said.
“The project will also reduce freight and passenger congestion – one of the area’s major issues.
“The project will link key export opportunities through the Bunbury Port and the Busselton-Margaret River Airport, which I also secured over $9 million in funding to open the region up to international and domestic tourists and freight.
Mrs Marino also acknowledged State Government funding towards the next stage of the Bunbury Outer Ring Road.
